Sustainability in the business field Transport Consulting
Transportation development plans for a city or region shall include the investigation of all modes of transport within an integrated planning process. Using travel demand census data allows us to analyse current traffic volumes and make forecasts for future development. Policy-sensitive traffic models can assess the effects of spatial and traffic planning options. Such an assessment should not only account for the economic aspects, but also incorporate ecological factors (emissions, noise) within the scope of environmental impact analyses.
One of the major problems in development regions is the high-volume motorised private traffic and insufficient supply of public transport. With traffic models that model all modes of transport, you can reveal bottlenecks and measures that would help avoid them. Moreover, projects can be optimised via feasibility studies.
PTV is involved in an extensive project for the modernisation of the transport system in Lviv, in the Ukraine, in order to create an efficient and ecologically friendly transport system. Through intelligent transport planning and targeted investments, the historical city centre can be relieved of traffic and CO2 emissions. This will also benefit the economy and tourism development of the city.
Here the focus is on the development of innovative, multipliable solution approaches that also have an effect beyond the project.
PTV advises private and public organisations and transport companies on the development of sustainable transport concepts.
