UsedomCard
Mobility management in a tourist region using the Island of Usedom's M21 UsedomCard
The availability of mobility and its gentle and environment-friendly implementation is decisive to the attractiveness of a tourist region such as the Island of Usedom. The aim of the M21 UsedomCard project is therefore to influence the mobility behaviour of tourists so that they also have a "holiday away from their car" during their stay and prefer the use of environmentally-friendly forms of transport such as rail, bus and bicycle.
The project idea is taken directly from the strategies of the integrated transportation concept Usedom-Wollin. In this case, a collection of measures were developed into mobility services and mobility management and linked to suitable tourist offers. The central instrument here is a mobility guest card (UsedomCard) whose portfolio of offers is aimed at relevant target groups of tourists.
The developed card and mobility concept will be demonstrated, tested and evaluated over several months. The information gained from this will enable long-term, viable services to be developed which can also be applied to other tourist regions. The project is part of the network of competencies Mobilität 21at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (BMVBS).
