MODIBEC is a 24-month, EU-supported coordinated action with the aim of paving the way for future partnerships and cooperation stategies, and the definition of mutual research aims between EU and China. The main focus is on digital broadcasting and mobile communication technologies.
Specifically, MODIBEC will encourage the exchange of expriences in the area of digital broadcasting and mobile services, define future priorities and cooperation possibilities and make recommendations for innovative research plans between the EU and China. This will occurr through organising workshops and conferences (Peking, Shanghai and Guangdong) as well as by demonstrating prototypes and new products. The consortium of 14 partners is shared at about 50:50 between Europe and China.
In addition to PTV, ERTICO, Siemens, Blaupunkt, Motorola, Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia and the WorldDMB Forum are involved in the forum.
