SPIN-ALP
project description
SPIN-ALP - Scanning the Potential of Intermodal Transport on Alpine Corri-dors
SPIN-ALP aims to develop a tool set for the evaluation of cargo transport flows that can be shifted on rail and for the planning of intermodal logistics chains on corridors crossing the Alps. PTV develops an intermodal planning tool based on the PTV logistics platform. The core requirement of this tool consists in the development of realistic shifting scenarios for transport service providers and shippers. PTV integrates data, networks and processes leading to an improved planning of intermodal transport alternatives. Extended with a proceeding model for the improvement of intermodal transports, SPIN-ALP represents an innovative new development that combines expert consulting with the application of standard IT-tools. The SPIN-ALP solutions will be demonstrated in several case studies with transport service providers and shippers.
