AKTIV (Adaptive und Kooperative Technologien für den Intelligenten Verkehr)

With the aim of making traffic in the future safer and more efficient, 29 partners in a four year research project up until mid 2010 are working together on a new driver assistance system, information technologies and solutions for an efficient traffic management and for vehicle-to-vehicle or vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.

The traffic management project
The aim of Aktiv-VM is the networking of intelligent on-board systems with intelligent infrastructure using communication and cooperation from traffic. From an institutional point of view, this communication is leading to a new form of cooperation between the automobile industry, the operators of road networks, providers of data and information services and manufacturers of end devices. "Cooperation in transport" also means a stronger interaction of technical processes, which is possible due to new technologies and software and also through the availability of new communication media.
