VSS Switzerland

The project compares the individual mobility needs with the requirements of the road infrastructure operators to obtain an optimal road management, considering the different responsibilities (national roads in competence of the confederation, cantonal roads, municipal roads).

Synergies and conflicts between collective and individual interest will then be analysed with the aim to develop  a specific solution for the coordination of navigation systems and  traffic management.

A coordination strategy will be formulated and its feasibility demonstrated. The connection with other services (e.g. future determination of travel times  with floating car data) will be shown. Furthermore, the potential standardization needs will be identified and defined.

PTV supports PTV Swiss AG with the demonstration of large-scale traffic management strategies in congruence with up-to-date variable routing in navigation systems. The system will be tested in the region of Basel/Luzern/Zurich.
