Traffic Condition
Before you start your journey, check if there are roadworks or other major events that may cause extra traffic along your selected route:
Information on the level of services (LOS) and journey times is available for the entire road network.
Various data sources can be accessed in order to collect the required traffic information:
- The simulation method for federal motorways (BAB) based on traffic detector values
- Data collected by traffic counters along trunk and country roads or city streets
- PTV's traffic model (PTV RushHour) calculates travel demand on the basis of structural data and allocates it to the road network. This model is used for road or street segments without count sites that are not part of the motorway network.
Depending on the information input and the time horizon, PTV systems can generate a comprehensive traffic report for the entire road network at any time of day.
