SITRAFFIC P2

The traffic engineering workstation SITRAFFIC P2 is an advanced Windows® application. It is similar in layout and operation to the MICROSOFT Explorer® thus allowing the user to become quickly familiar with the system. SITRAFFIC P2 is marketed by PTV and Siemens (manufacturer).

SITRAFFIC P2 provides all functionalities required for efficient editing of individually controlled and co-ordinated traffic signal controls.

SITRAFFIC P2 includes export/import mechanisms for data exchange with the control device program Control as well as with the microscopic simulation software VISSIM. It also supports the OCIT instation VI standard interface for data exchange with software components from different software providers.

Online support and release management are available as well. The data can be printed or plotted in customised formats and can be directly used as basic data in the programs required for Siemens ITS' control devices and traffic computer systems.

  • Intergreen calculation according to different guidelines (RiLSA 1992 Germany, RVS Austria, Swiss standard Norm SN640838 of VSS) with an automatic routing based on the graphic display.
  • Generating and editing basic signal control data such as intergreens, offset times, progressively controlled pedestrian times
  • Editing phases/stages, also for partial intersections, with phasing plans and the creation of phase transitions and signal plans
  • Importing and editing measured values in the form of daily time graphs and stream load analysis.
  • Calculating and evaluating signal programs based on HBS 2001.
  • Many graphical editing options for time-space-diagrams including display of public transport routes and variable green times of vehicle-actuated traffic control.


Functionalities such as

  • Editing green times
  • Shifting green times and the entire signal control plan
  • Line-based trip generation for public transport
  • Display of earliest/latest green time starts and ends to analyse variations in vehicle-actuated traffic control.
